The Stories That Wouldn't Leave My Head

I grew up with these creatures.

They were part of the bedtime stories I heard as a child, old tales filled with strange beings, ancient magic, and creatures you were meant to fear. They were always the monsters. The villains. The warning hiding in the story. But as I grew older, I started wondering about the other side of those tales. Why were they the monsters? Were they always meant to be feared, or had we simply never heard their side of the story? I didn't want to change the legends entirely. I wanted to understand the creatures within them. To look beyond the roles they had been given and imagine what might exist beneath centuries of fear and storytelling. What if the monster wasn't always the monster? What if immortality felt more like a curse than a gift? What if there was a reason they became the creatures we were warned about? And perhaps the question that fascinated me most...

What would happen if a monster fell in love?

Those questions became a story. And somehow, one story became four.

The Wardens of Nav was born.

Four ancient beings inspired by the Slavic folklore of my childhood. Four stories that step beyond the legends we know and explore the spaces those old tales left behind.

These aren't retellings of the bedtime stories I grew up with. They're my way of turning those stories around and looking at the creatures who were always standing in the shadows.

This time, the monsters get to tell their side.

For now, the Wardens remain there,in the shadows.

But not for much longer.

Welcome to The Wardens of Nav.
